New Psychiatric Technician Training Program Director Named
at West Hills College Coalinga
Verna Hernandez has joined West Hills College Coalinga as the new psychiatric technician training program director.
Hernandez comes to West Hills from Coalinga State Hospital, where she served as the psychiatric nurse education director and a nursing instructor since September 2006. Previously, she was employed with Fairview Development Center as its health service specialist from January 2002 through September 2006.
Hernandez was involved in nursing education at Concorde Career College from May 2003 through 2007. She was also a registered nurse at Fairview Developmental Center from September 1998.
Hernandez began her career in 1985 as a psychiatric technician with Fairview Developmental Center. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix. For more information, phone (559) 934-2762.
