West Hills College Coalinga Plans Graduation Friday, May 23rd
Graduation ceremonies for West Hills College Coalinga are planned for Friday evening, May 23rd, in the college quad.
Tranquillity farmer and former West Hills Community College District Board of Trustee member Vernon Gordon will be the featured speaker and Faye Mendenhall, who is retiring after teaching at the college for 29 years, will be honored.
Also honored will be Alumni of the Year Clayton Youree from the Class of 1957 and the late Stephen Tom Stefanie from the Class of 1999.
Youree served for many years in as a fire fighter in Kern County and has been active in fire fighter associations.
Stefanie was killed while serving as a U.S.D.A. foreign agriculture service advisor in Afghanistan in 2007.
