Mark McKean President Trustee Area 5 |
Mark McKean has served on the Board of Trustees since November, 1991 and currently holds the position as President of the Board of Trustees. He and his family reside in Riverdale, California and he is the Owner Manager of McKean Farms. Mr. McKean attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and Colorado State University. His professional affiliations and service organizations include the Kings River Conservation District and numerous water-related boards. When asked what excites him about the West Hills Community College District, Mr. McKean responded “Providing quality, educational opportunities to the people of Fresno and Kings Counties.” |
Bill Henry Vice President Trustee Area 4 |
Bill Henry has served on the Board of Trustees since November, 1987. He and his wife reside in Lemoore, California and he is a retired elementary school teacher. Mr. Henry attended Fresno City College; California State University, Fresno; and Fresno Pacific University. His professional affiliations and service organizations include the Kiwanis Club of Lemoore and the Tulare Kings All-Star Football Game Committee. Mr. Henry was previously named Lemoore Citizen of the Year. When asked what excites him about the West Hills Community College District, Mr. Henry stated, “District growth and the increasing ability to extend educational opportunities in Coalinga, Firebaugh and Lemoore. Also, the ability to produce online educational opportunities and programs that will dramatically change a person’s ability to provide for themselves and their family.” |

Nina Oxborrow has served on the Board of Trustees
since November, 1997 and currently holds the position as Clerk
of the Board of Trustees. Mrs. Oxborrow and her family reside in
Coalinga, California and are the owners of Oxborrow Enterprises, Inc., a local construction company. She attended West Hills College. Mrs.
Oxborrow serves on the West Hills College Foundation Board, Finance Committee for the Redevelopment Agency and CHS-ART Committee. She states “The value of our community college is evident when speaking with our students and citizens. By reaching out and continually providing educational opportunities for the people in our communities, we all benefit." |

Steve Cantu has served on the Board of Trustees
since February, 1996. He and his wife reside in Tranquillity, California.
Mr. Cantu is the owner/operator of S. Cantu Farms. He attended
West Hills College and California State University, Fresno. His
professional affiliations and service organizations include Valley
Health Team; USDA Cotton Board; and the National Cotton Council.
When asked what excites him about the West Hills Community College
District, Mr. Cantu states, “The new facilities at the Lemoore
Campus, the upgrades at the Coalinga Campus along with the Farm
of the Future, and the expansion of the North District Center,
Firebaugh Campus. These improvement benefit our programs and give
our students an opportunity for a well-rounded education.” |

Edna Ivans has served on the Board of Trustees
since June, 1967. Mrs. Ivans and her husband reside in Avenal,
California and she is a retired pharmacist and owner of Tomer Drug
Company. Mrs. Ivans attended the University of Southern California.
Her professional affiliations and service organizations include
the American Pharmacists Association; California Pharmacists Association;
Kings/Tulare Pharmacists Association; Delta Kappa Gamma; Avenal
Business Association; Kings County Juvenile Justice Committee;
and the Kings County Art Center Foundation Board. The women’s
residence hall, Edna L. Ivans Hall, at West Hills College Coalinga
is named in her honor. Her achievements also include Fresno Bee/YMCA
Business/Professional Woman of the Year Finalist; Avenal Chamber
of Commerce Citizen of the Year; Avenal Parent Teacher Association
Life Member; and Advisor to the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Program
of Bergen Brunswig Inc. Mrs. Ivans states, “The dynamic changes
in every phase of life requires that a community college be flexible
and adapt to these changes. We prepare our constituents for a richer
life within the community. I believe that we should all be willing
to give something of ourselves and use our talents to achieve goals
that will benefit the world around us. It excites me to see that
West Hills College constantly responds and changes. I like being
a part of an institution that can and does make a difference.” |
Jeff Levinson |
Jeff Levinson has served on the Board of Trustees since November, 1985. Mr. Levinson and his family reside in Lemoore, California and he is an attorney at Griswold, LaSalle, Cobb, Dowd & Gin, L.L.P. He attended UC Riverside; UC Berkeley; and San Joaquin College of Law. His professional affiliations and service organizations include the Kings County Bar; American Bar Association, State Bar of California; Kiwanis Club of Lemoore; and the Lemoore Chamber of Commerce. He is also the author of several books. Mr. Levinson states the “continuing opportunities for our students, staff and district communities” is what excites him about the West Hills Community College District. |
Jack Minnite |
Jack Minnite has served on the Board of Trustees since December, 1996 and currently holds the position as Vice President of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Minnite and his wife reside in Firebaugh, California and are the owners of Jack’s Prime Time Restaurant. He attended West Hills College, at the time known as Coalinga Junior College. His professional affiliations and service organizations include the Firebaugh Rotary; and the Fresno County Water Advisory Committee. Mr. Minnite and his wife are the proud parents of 3 children and 6 grandchildren. When asked what excites him about the West Hills Community College District, Mr. Minnite commented “There is a hunger for knowledge that I have never seen anywhere else than on the west side. West Hills College is meeting that need. It is our responsibility to make this education available.” |
